IDOLS<\/strong> marks YUNGBLUD\u2019s most ambitious body of work to date \u2014 the first chapter of a double album, with part two\u2019s release date still to be announced. It represents a bold coming of age for the 27-year-old artist, whose previous two albums both reached number one in the UK, cracked the Billboard Top 100, and helped amass an astonishing six billion global streams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The record arrives alongside a striking live performance visual for the focus track \u201cGhosts\u201d<\/strong> \u2014 a haunting piano ballad showcasing one of the most powerful vocal deliveries of YUNGBLUD\u2019s career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking about the song, he shared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s about comprehending mortality. I wrote it while walking along the banks of the River Thames, thinking about how many people had walked the same path and what might have been going through their minds at the time. We\u2019re gone in the blink of an eye, and life is precious and fast. Don\u2019t forget to live it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He went on to reflect on the song\u2019s final moments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe outro of \u2018Ghosts\u2019 is one of my favourite pieces of music we\u2019ve written for this album. I just let my imagination run. It\u2019s inspired by opera, specifically The King and I<\/em>. Everyone thought I was mad for referencing that in a rock recording session. But f*ck it. That\u2019s IDOLS.\u201d

To shut out all external influences and steer clear of the well-trodden, formulaic approach often found in mainstream studio songwriting and production,\u00a0the 12-track offering that is\u00a0IDOLS<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0was recorded\u00a0just outside of where\u00a0Yungblud\u00a0<\/strong>grew up in the north of England, with producer\u00a0Matt\u00a0Schwartz\u00a0<\/strong>at the helm,\u00a0Bob Bradley<\/strong>\u00a0on additional production, and guitarist\u00a0Adam Warrington<\/strong>. The first single \u2018Hello Heaven, Hello<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
